How Funny Is She

Tomato Paste Facial

So at 32 years old, I am at the stage where I just need to start taking care of myself better. I have it in me to start working out regularly. With a goal to be jogging by the warmer months. I want to be well toned but not muscular. I want to worry less about wrinkles and dark circles, too.

My skin is usually really soft but at the same time I can develop dry patches. I noticed the skin on my face getting dull, looking splotchy and breaking out more. I cannot use just anything on my face so I decided to go the food route.

After doing some trolling around the Internet I came across the Tomato Paste Facial. So I tried it out, sorry I didn't take a before or even and after picture but my boyfriend snapped this shot during the during period. I have to say it tingled a bit, after washing it off with cool water. I noticed an immediate brightness and smoother appearance. And 12 hours later I still look clearer, brighter and smoother. I will try it again next week and post the results.

But I have to say for 59 cents, and one small can can definitely give you at least 5 facials, its pretty great!

Work at Home..... True or False

I have been fortunate enough to land a legitimate work from home job. I have an extensive background in Customer Service, Data Entry and Administrative Duties. My experience in the work world has also been with highly time sensitive, organizationally based business. Meaning the more efficient and time friendly a project or task got done the more money the company made.

Who knew! So with that being said, when I went back to school few years ago I was looking for a job that would fit in to my school schedule and allow me to be home to take care of my son. Money really wasn't an issue I just needed to make sure I could afford to have transportation, lunch money and some pocket money for my son. Well I landed a job at an Internet company. Customer Service on-site at first, and I loved it.

I ended up working there for about 2 years. I stayed friends with the manager and the assistant manager, not for any other reason then the simple fact that they were DOPE.

Recently  I contacted my friend to inquire about possibly going back to work there part time. I LOVE being a stay at home mom, but I am starting to feel the end of summer blues. Where I know I will only be going outside to bring my middle son to school and pick him up from school. Long gone are the days of lazily lounging around the parks in my neighborhood, soaking up the suns heat deep down into my bones. Long gone are the days of just walking ... anywhere... gone are also the days of daily adult conversations.

So I took a leap, contacted her and within a day or two she offered me the opportunity to either come back into the office for one price or work from home at a cheaper rate. I jumped on working from home (babysitters can be expensive), I knew it was the right move, especially after she finished her sentence, by saying working from home you can still opt to be on the on-site schedule 1-2 days a week!! CHA CHING!

So I am here to tell you that legit work from home opportunites are available. And I am also going to tell you, that as of today I have been looking into other work at home companies.

Today I applied to 1-800-FLOWERS, and am scheduled to have a phone interview this coming Oct 24th. I can't wait to see how that goes. I have read that they pay $9 an hour, part-timer (that's what I am looking for) you can work up to 10 hours a week. There working hours to me are amazing (I'm hoping I get to choose my hours) are from 6am - 2am! Who cannot fit 10 hours into that time frame.

I am also looking into some other work from home websites, I'll keep you guys updated on my process and paychecks.

She's a Diva

So this is my Little Little well before 10am in the morning, painting her toe nails and putting on her Lispick. I really don't know where she gets it from, and I am comfortable saying she gets it from her fathers side.

My Smile Deal

I have totally fallen for crock pots in the last 3 months. About 5 years ago I purchased my first crock pot. I found myself pregnant, in school full time and working full time, while caring for my (at the time 10 y/o) son. I loved the idea of setting it up before I left to school in the morning, and knowing that my son would have a healthy meal when dinner time came.
It has only been recently that I started using it..... I KNOW.... I could kick myself.
About a month ago I purchased a larger 7 qt crock pot, and just today I purchased a much smaller 3 1/2 qt crock pot from Target for only $16.79. And to be honest I cannot say I am not going to purchase the 2 qt one that is on a steal sale for only $9.99.
WHY do I need so many slow cookers... it's simple. I believe that every household should have at least 2 crock pot slow cookers. One for the main dish and one for the side dish.  Extra sizes are an option, I will use my 3 1/3 qt for smaller meals (maybe lunches), desserts & sides. And the 2 qt I'm thinking about breakfast for my boyfriend. He loves hot oatmeal on cold winter mornings, and I am not waking up at the crack ass of dawn to make it. But i can set it up in the evening and we all can have a hearty hot breakfast.
(the photos will link you directly to the items)

Crock Pot Slow Cooker - (2Qt) - $9.99

Crock-Pot® Round Electric Slow Cooker - Stainless Steel

(3 Quart) - $ 16.79

Priceless

The Big Little reading to the Middle & Little Little. I can't get enough of it. Sooner than I think I will have a house full of readers.

Crockpot Cajun Chili

If it turns out as good as it looks and smells, I will post the recipe. I am making cornbread and white rice on the side. I have a small block of cheddar cheese I am about to shred, and a quarter of a small onion I want to mince. There are some other bits & pieces of other potential toppings, just sitting in the fridge, I plan to use up rather than toss out.

It all starts with the letter A

The middle Little wants to learn how to read. So tonight we started with the letter A. I don't think I am going to go straight through the alphabet. I am going to start with his name. He recognizes the first letter of his name and prints it well now we are moving on to the second letter.

Sunday Lunch

We got a late lunch this past Sunday from Brisas del Caribe, an amazing Spanish American Restaurant in the Bronx.

 Brisas is located at
1207 Castle Hill Ave
Bronx, NY 10462

Chillin

I went out Saturday night to a great bar/lounge on the Eastside of Manhattan. I did exactly what I have been dying to do. Sip on a drink and groove to the beat.

Dominican Blowout

This is me with my natural hair. No gel or nothing. Air Dried.
And this is my with my Dominican Blowout.
This is how my hair look 5 days after I got it done.Oh this is also right after a 5 inch trim. My hair has grown since this photo.

I have been getting Dominican Blowouts most of my teenager/adult life. Who knew that they actually had a NAME. Growing up as a bi-racial child in a Italian family, I was regulated to a horrible mushroom cut. (no I will NOT post pictures). As a child I had short, curly, fluffy, fuzzy hair. My Italian grandmother had NO idea what to do with my hair.... never mind how to maintain it.

As I got older as much as I loved my beautiful spirals, I like the look of pin straight hair. I learned I had to allow my hair to grow OUT before it grew DOWN. I needed the weight of the hair in order to obtain length. When I was 13, I was introduced to the Rollo Set and haven't looked back. I generally only get my hair done for AMAZING celebrations.. which only ends up being once or twice a year.

I am amazed and I am hooked. I now have natural (I don't dye or use any chemicals in my hair) waist length amazing spiral curls, and when I want I am able to get the HIP length pin straight hair I had always dreamed about.
Although I am curious about the Brazilian Blowout... I may try it ... but ONLY on my bangs....not that I have bangs but I would GET bangs ..hehe..

Makeup Tutorial?

My little Little is obsessed with makeup. She will use everything.and anything as lipstick and eyeshadow I hide it, she finds it. I take it away and she comes back with more. Btw, this is a Sharpie Permanent Marker.... I used Baby Lotion to remove it.

Photos of the REAL Me!

Ever take a photo that just sums up your personality. I am the family photographer, so I really don't have many photos of myself as I am usually behind the camera. I have been lucky enough to snag from really great shots of not just me but my PERSONALITY.

These are photos of me REALLY being ME! Enjoy!

The View

I'm at my friends house and this is her view. Gotta Love the 59th street bridge.

Walking the dog.

With 3 kids its both a stress and relief to have to have dog walking duties. The was no school today, so my oldest (15 y/o) watched The Littles, so I could walk Jax.
Jax and I took an amazing 45 min walk around our neighborhood on this gloomy day.
